“The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.” Steve Jobs

It is amazing what one can do when the limits, real or imaginary, are taken off. Who even sets the status quo and limits? Consider which limits are real, and which may be borrowed from life experiences and other people. If people set these, intentionally or otherwise, you can break through and set a new ceiling. It all comes down to the mindset. There is no limit to what we can do when we have access to correct, timely, and empowering information.

“The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing.” –Albert Einstein

Reflection:

What do you expose yourself to? Who are you listening to, and which voices are you shutting down? Are these voices compelling and encouraging enough to get you moving and moving at a steady pace, or are they keeping you stuck in one place, thinking you have already made it? How much are you willing to invest to gain access to the resources you need?

“You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.” James Clear

Adjusting your life may look different to different people, because everyone is at a different stage of life and on a different path. Your personal definition of success determines this path. How would you describe success in your circumstances?

“You cannot go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.”C.S. Lewis

To Do:

  1. Count the cost and take that one step you have been contemplating
  2. Change your circle of friends, if necessary, while learning to be a valuable friend yourself
  3. Challenge yourself by moving on to something new
  4. Learn something new. Grow in depth or laterally
  5. Get a coach to accompany you on your growth journey
  6. Be assertive and bold in your approach to life. What is the worst that could happen?
  7. Learn to celebrate the ‘little’ achievements. Let these propel you forward.
  8. Lean in a bit more. It may amaze you where it could take you.
  9. Focus on one idea and grow it out. Surround yourself with people who challenge your thinking and actions and hold you accountable.
  10. Give yourself grace when you need it.

“It’s not whether you get knocked down, it’s whether you get back up.” –Vince Lombardi

Finally:

Do your best wherever you are right now. Set the bar a little higher for yourself every time you meet and/or exceed a target. Keep track, and soon you will be the mentor people need in their lives. Remember, you are the architect of your own limits; take them off!
